Is Being a Coach a Good Career Choice?

A coaching career is an excellent way to make a living while doing something you love and are naturally good at. To be successful, resumes must demonstrate the right skills and abilities to perform the job at the level being advertised. A career coach can help you position your skills in the context of a potential position, especially transferable ones that don't exactly match what's in the job description. Not all achievements, no matter how good they are, belong to a resume. A career counselor can help you determine which experience is relevant to the position you are applying for and simplify your resume and LinkedIn profile with a message that will position you to attract the attention of recruiters.

Many people want to start charging immediately because they think that will make them legitimate. However, what will make you legitimate is your trustworthiness and how good you are. It's not like you have paying customers. Don't focus on money right now or how many customers you have. Remember, this is a passionate hobby until it tips and it turns into a full-time career.

Do it for a minimum fee or for free; it's a gift for you to become a better coach. Life Coaching is indeed a legitimate profession, one that is making thousands of Life Coaches highly profitable and rewarding lives. No matter what you want to improve, there is a coach who can help you achieve your goals. Thanks also Karen for confirming my opinion that the combination of B-school training and coaching is an excellent platform to build my successful business. I thought the elephant in the room is that training is basically therapy provided by an UNQUALIFIED individual. It is important to note that professional coaches should never promise you that they will get you a job or help you reach a certain salary, because you are the key to their success.

Life Coaches often don't have a degree or educational background in what they are training, and there is no standard of educational requirements like with professional therapy. When becoming a health coach, it's essential that you learn not only holistic health information but also solid training skills to help your clients make lasting changes in their lives. There is no right answer here; you just have to be clear about what you want to get from health and wellness coaching. So, clarify what your lifestyle and work are right from the start so you can move in that direction and see if health training fits that vision. You can look for a Life Coach who has experience or specialization in the area in which you want to work. Lauren McAdams, career advisor and hiring manager for Resume Companion, said it's a big red flag if a career coach requests a large fee upfront. The other (hard) truth is that any tangible skill is approximately 10000 times easier to market than training, so for the love of Buddha, don't give them up completely to become a life coach. This may be the only factor that separates people who are interested from people who actually execute and end up making life coaching a career.

All training skills are great to learn and very beneficial, but monetizing them is something completely different from what NO training program is going to talk about because it hinders your growth. Although many people believe that life coaching is a relatively new field, in truth, life coaching began as a formal profession in the 1950s and was known as business coaching. If you don't know what career or job will lead you to accomplish, a coach can help you consider possibilities that could be a departure from your past experience or that you hadn't considered.
